The Swire Leadership Development Curriculum is designed to support management trainees and managers throughout their careers. For every individual en route to an executive level role, there are, in principle, four leadership career levels that they have to pass through: Individual Contributor, Team Leader, Operational Leader and Strategic Leader. A transition from one level to the next involves significant changes in job complexity and responsibility. The Swire Leadership Development Curriculum is designed to ensure our people develop the capabilities needed to perform and progress.
We regularly enrol our managers in business management and executive programmes designed for Swire at noted international institutions such as INSEAD. We also provide opportunities for our high potential senior managers to attend executive programmes at Stanford University and other reputable international education institutions.
It is important that every individual is equipped with the attributes needed to succeed at various levels. To this end, detailed assessments will be made upon entering each level, gauging a candidate's readiness and identifying any capability or development gaps.
The curriculum ensures that individuals can achieve their development goals at each level. As executives become more experienced, so the training becomes more customised to their requirements.
