We will contact candidates who are unable to attend the scheduled screening process and try to make alternative arrangements with them.

How should I select between the Hong Kong, the Mainland China, and the International Management Trainee Programmes? Can I apply for three of them?

For the Hong Kong Programme, you need to have the right of abode in Hong Kong, or be a PRC, or be an overseas national who is eligible for employment in Hong Kong under the revised immigration policy. Candidates who do not have the right to work in Hong Kong might want to consider joining the International or Mainland China Programme. Hong Kong trainees will be primarily based in Hong Kong after completing the three-year programme, and may be relocated to different countries or regions during their career with Swire.

For the Mainland China Programme, you need to have citizenship in the PRC. Candidates who do not have the right to work in the PRC might want to consider joining the International Programme or Hong Kong Programme. Mainland China trainees will be primarily based in Mainland China after completing the programme.

For the International Programme, you will need to be available for interview in the UK, preferably London. International trainees will be relocated to different countries or regions during the three-year programme and different industries throughout their career with Swire.

Renumeration and benefit packages for Hong Kong, Mainland China and International programme trainees may vary in accordance with local conditions.

You should apply to join just one of the programmes. We will only process one application from each candidate.

5.

I am not a business major, would that affect my chance of becoming a Swire Management Trainee?

We do not have specific requirements for the degree majors of applicants. The Swire Management Trainee Programme is a generalist programme and our company philosophy is the pursuit of excellence and achievement. We therefore welcome university graduates from any discipline who subscribe to our philosophy while demonstrating the key competencies we look for in their educational background and extra-curricular activities.

6.

I am only interested in joining one of the companies in the Swire group; can I apply directly to that company?

If you are interested in a general management career within any of our group companies, you will have to apply through one of the Swire Management Trainee Programmes. For Hong Kong and PRC programmes, you may state your preference on the application form. We carefully consider a trainee's interests, preferences, personality and other indicators, as well as Swire's own business needs when determining the business stream to which trainees are seconded. Those who aspire to a specialist career in technical fields such as engineering, building surveying and other technical areas may apply directly to the relevant companies for their respective specialist schemes.

7.

I do not have the right of abode in Hong Kong; will Swire apply for a work permit for me?

We only accept applications for the Hong Kong programme from applicants with an existing right to work in Hong Kong, and PRC or overseas nationals who are eligible for employment in Hong Kong under the revised immigration policy. Candidates with citizenship in the PRC are eligible for the Mainland China Programme.

8.

I have submitted the application already but I now want to make changes, what should I do?
